Drawing on his unique experience gained in old masters reproductions, Mel uses traditional techniques to create all his mural paintings. These can either be painted in oil paints or acrylic paints on canvas in his studio for installation or painted directly onto walls. In both cases, the highest quality materials are used. Each mural is designed as a one off original painting to complement the character of it's environment.

Great care is taken to keep the palette and colour schemes of these mural paintings in harmony with the rooms in which they are installed. Constant reference is made to colour swatches and soft furnishing samples throughout the painting process where appropriate.

Thorough research and consultation with the client is always undertaken with regard to detail. Particular care is taken with this where there is a specific theme and historical accuracy needs to be maintained.
